So called because of
the pentagram burned onto the face of the catch, this box is unique
in more ways than one.
It incorporates a slightly simpler type of
"rod and orifice" catch and a method of shaping the wood
that enabled me to sculpt the legs and lid into graceful curved
shapes.
The receptical housing the cards is of pine, lined with velvet, and contrasts beautifully with the rich, dark colours of the legs, lid and catches, which were shaped from a variety of dense
Australian native cabinet timbers.
